In the Season of Giving, Chicago Community Delivers Hope to Palestinian Children with New Transportation for Tulkarm Orphanage
Chicago, IL — As the Season of Giving inspires generosity across the globe, a profound act of compassion has reached the children of Palestine. This week, the Orphanage of Tulkarm received a new 15-seat van funded by donors from the Chicago community and supporters nationwide offering a renewed sense of safety, dignity, and childhood possibility for some of the region’s most vulnerable youth.
This meaningful milestone was made possible through Chicago-based Refugee Life Foundation, whose mission-driven efforts transformed collective compassion into direct impact.
“In a season defined by kindness and humanity, our community chose to give these children something priceless: the assurance that they have not been forgotten,” said Rush Darwish, Chairman of the Refugee Life Foundation. “This van is more than a vehicle, it is a symbol of safety, opportunity, and hope. It reflects what is possible when people come together to uplift children who deserve every chance to dream.”
The Foundation now looks ahead to its next major initiative—the 2026 Humanity 5K—where supporters will once again unite to expand resources and opportunities for children in Palestine.
