On behalf of the Running Refugees and all our supporting organizers, we welcome you to our Sunday Solidarity Walk and Run at Orland Park Prayer Center. During this time when we are witnessing a great injustice towards any civilization, we must stand up and have our voices heard!

Here are some important details for tomorrow’s event

Parking

Free parking is available at the Orland Prayer Center. The start and finish of the walk/run will take place by the newly constructed parking lot on 167^th and 104^th ave.  Parking is available at the Orland Mosque off 104^th ave.  Cars willnot be allowed to enter the parking lot from 167^th since this is where the Start/Finish is located.

Walk and Run

After opening remarks, the walkers and runners will line up near the entrance of 167^th. Walkers and runners will immediately cross the street to enter the grassland trails. 167^th and 104^th will be blocked while runners and walkers cross into the trails.

Grassland Trails

Walkers will go 1 mile down the beautiful grassland trails and will have volunteers on the path for walkers to turn back to the Orland Prayer Center. The course will also be marked.

Runners will run the 5-mile loop and return back to the Orland Prayer Center. 

NOTE-Due to warmer weather conditions, the event organizers strongly advise to proceed with caution if you plan on running 5 miles. There are NO hydration stops from event organizers. Make sure you carry hydration with you during the run.

There will be road blocking assistance for walkers/runners heading back to the Orland Prayer Center. However, road blockage is available for a limited time. 

WE ASK FOR ALL PARTICPANTS TO PROCEED WITH CAUTION WHEN CROSSING 104^TH AND 167^THHEADING BACK INTO THE ORLAND PARK PRAYER CENTER IN AN EVENT THE ROAD IS NO LONGER BLOCKED

Post Event

Water will be available at the finish line. Complimentary, freshly baked frosted donuts will also be available during post run/walk festivities. Music will be played by DJ Shereen as walkers and runners finish the run/walk. All festivities will conclude by 11:00am
