The Running Refugees

The 4th Annual Running Refugees Relay is back and this time we are running close to home! RRR will take place July 29th-30th at Messenger Woods in Homer Glen, IL.  For this year’s relay, you have an option for the extreme runner and for folks who would want to take a stroll with family, friends, or anyone who wants to run or walk for fun! All proceeds from this years Running Refugees Relay will go towards the first ever At Home Dialysis Center in Ramallah Palestine. Registration cost for the Running Refugees Relay is $65 and included an event T-shirt and food. 

Here are the options runners can participate in

Team Extreme

Runners will participate in a 100 mile team relay that will begin Saturday (7.29) 12pm and end Sunday (7.30) until they reach 100 total miles or when 24 hours are complete. Each person will be assigned a distance to run and when complete will hand off to the next runner and will continue to rotate until the job is done. Runners will use two different trails with one trail measured at 1.36 miles and the second trail is 1.87 miles respectively. Team extreme participants will also carry a backpack with supplies as a symbol of solidarity for refugee families who are struggling around the world

Team Anytime 

Team anytime is more of a stroll through Messenger Woods trail for individuals, family, or friends who want to run or walk during daytime hours on Saturday (7.29) 6:00am-8:00pm or Sunday (7.30.23)from  6:00am-4:00pm. Participants can run or walk using two different trails with one trail measured at 1.36 miles and the second trail is 1.87 miles respectively. There is an option to run or walk as many times as they wish during daylight hours.
